About Celebrating-Car-Culture

Dennis E. Horvath never met an automobile he didn’t like. The development of his passion for learning and sharing Indiana automotive history arose from his upbringing in Indiana and his involvement with autos in the early 1960’s.

He is the Web publisher of Cruise-IN.com: Celebrating Indiana automotive history, which won an International Automotive Media Award — Silver Medallion for Excellence™ in 1999.

In the fall of 2002, Dennis and his wife Terri wrote Indiana Cars: A history of the automobile in Indiana, published in the fall of 2002. In addition to these books, Dennis has been a contributing writer for Old Cars Weekly, Toy Cars & Models, and the Indianapolis Star.

Additionally, He is the Web proprietor of Auto Gift Garage which features automotive gifts celebrating classic and collectible cars.

In September 2012, Dennis developed a series of tours celebrating Indianapolis’ automotive heritage. He presented these tours to the Indiana Lincoln Highway Association, who encouraged him to commercialize then. Dennis launched Indianapolis Auto Tours to celebrate this heritage in early 2013.

Dennis shares his love for automobiles by judging at venues like the Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance, the Concours of Southwest Michigan, the Celebration of Automobiles at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the Carmel Artomobillia.

He’ll be blogging here about celebrating car culture.
